Intense ruby red with dense purple froth.
Impressive, vinous, reminiscent of violets and wild berries including raspberries and blackberries.
Dry, quite warm and soft, tannic but pleasantly, so; full-bodied, lingering aromatic taste.
Excellent with oven-baked pasta dishes, polenta with Lardo di Colonnata speciality, Tortellini in broth, pork, roast meats with strongly flavoured sauces, fried and casseroled fatty fish.
